Mandie & Brad :: {The things that dreams are made of…}

Working in the wedding industry constantly keeps your creative wheels turning, I’m always trying to think up new ways to design florals, or coming up with trendy colour palettes that really make a couple’s décor pop! But when you are someone who works in this business AND you’re getting married…the possibilities seem endless and the ideas are almost non-stop! So, as a photographer in the world of weddings, it was no surprise that Mandie (of ShutterBrugs Photography & friend of Fleurish Design Studio!) and husband Brad would have ambitious dreams about their wedding day. Their casual, vintage inspired wedding boasted charming invitations & paper details from Hip Ink, as well as, an eclectic mix of mason jars, antique bottles, milk glass vases and vintage cheese & wine boxes filled with lush, bright florals that really made their unique décor elements stand out.

Their ceremony took place at Flat Rock Cellars, where mounds of baby’s breath sat on top of wine barrels and flanked the grassy aisle. At the end of the aisle, a birch arch with flowing white fabric added the perfect touch of softness & elegance to the vibrancy of the outdoor space.

I wanted to pair bright and bold floral colours that would really make the unique and eclectic elements of Mandie & Brad’s wedding décor and attire pop! I used a mix of hot & soft pinks, hints of coral, soft yellows, and whites & greens to create a vibrant summer colour combination, and used a variety of more traditional (and not so traditional) flowers, including; garden roses, peonies, spray roses, ranunculus, ladies mantle, matricaria, astilbe, baby’s breath, and last but not least, succulents! (They are a great way to add a modern twist to your floral details!)

Details! Details! Details! I absolutely love these key details on the boutonnieres.

And this bride’s bouquet & bridesmaid bouquets just scream summer!

The guests gathered at a private residence where they enjoyed a trendy dinner served by El Gastrónomo Vagabundo in a tented reception space, which was filled with fabulous personal touches, bright centerpieces and an assortment of vintage props and details furnished by Hazlitt Vintage Rentals, and Key Event Styling & Vintage Rentals & chiavari chairs from Simply Beautiful Decor. As the sun went down, Mandie & Brad’s family and friends enjoyed a quaint outdoor bar area and danced the night away on an outdoor dance floor lit by vintage strung lights.

And I bet you are all wondering who helps take the photographs at a photographers wedding? Well, Mandie & Brad enlisted the help of Calvin Frank Photography, Daniel Ricci Photography, and Sarah Thomas Photography & all of the pictures look amazing don’t you think ?!

A big thanks to Mandie & Brad for letting me be a part of their dreamy wedding day! And remember, your wedding details should always be what you dreamed of (the dress, the location, the food & the flowers) it’s all possible!
