Oh the sweet bliss of a summer garden wedding! When delivering the flowers to Julie on the morning of her wedding day, I was in awe of all of fabulous details coming together for her & her groom Glen’s special day. Getting ready in the lovely Grand Victorian Mansion on the property of Reif Winery in Niagara on the Lake, it was the most perfect setting for their outdoor garden wedding. All of the details breathtaking and really capturing the romantic mood of the day!!
Soft & bold shades of yellow, soothing ivories and whites with touches of yellowy lime green added the perfect colour palette for their flowers, a pop of bright colour against the soft views of the day! Enjoy these lovely photographs taken by the talented Morgan Falk of Morgan Falk Photography.
Oh for the love of coral…yes okay, maybe I’m a little obsessed with it!! So when planning out the colours & flowers for my booth – shades of coral, soft peach, gray and white were definitely a no brainer!! Not only is coral a fabulous colour with so many lovely hues, it is one of those on trend shades in the fashion world and one of those colours that really looks good on anyone – therefore perfect for your bridesmaids or a shirt in your wardrobe!
Enjoy a few shots of my take of this feminine shade and my booth at the Vintage Inns Wedding Show this past weekend in Niagara on the Lake. I am so thrilled with the outcome and all of the excitement it created! And of course a special shout out to all of the newly engaged couples who came out to the show – what a great event!!
Oh the sweet, sweet romantic love of a couple on their wedding day! Nadia & Kevin were just beaming in all of these fabulous photos from Shutterbrugs Photography and the gorgeous weather & locations only added to their beauty!
When originally chatting with Nadia about the flowers and the stylish looks for the big day, she definitely wanted to capture a classic elegance while punching it up with the flowers. And that is exactly what we did! The bridesmaids wore lovely black dresses and each chose what colour shoes they like to jazz up their looks with and here is what they came up with…
Using a simple combination of creamy white hydrangea, roses and orchids, each bouquet had a different flower to really showcase and compliment the shoes perfectly. For the bride herself, we went for a simple, elegant combination of the same creamy white hydrangea and white cymbidium orchids!
Enjoy a few more shots…the blue sky such a vivid contrast to the vineyards and wedding party!
When Allison and I met for our floral consultation, she was a woman who knew exactly what she wanted!! Blooms & colours to evoke a wonderful fall elegance with a touch of natural elements & punches of wine shades to match the bridesmaids dresses. Together we came up with a palette of burnt oranges, wines, browns with punches of lime green, mustard yellow, hot pink and birch! With the Old Mill in Ancaster being the backdrop for their autumn nuptials, the flowers were definitely the splash of colour for their day!
Feast your eyes on these lovely bouquets – blooms include orange & wine toned ball dahlia, lime green spider mums & mini cymbidium orchids, hot pink coxcomb celosia, mustard billy balls & button mums, burgundy gerbera & beech leaves wrapped with flipped leaves, satin ribbon & twine for a rustic touch.
Oh and don’t forget the cute kissing ball for the little princess 🙂
Masculine fall inspired boutonnieres for the men…
Distinctive pew decor – these birch cones were a lovely woodsy touch against the bold blooms
Moving into the venue, birch wrapped tins & blooms added an exceptional warmth to the simply decorated room
November…a month which typically brings cool, windy and dreary weather…thankfully for our beautiful bride Elissa & her handsome groom Brad’s bold & funky wedding day brought nothing but warmth, love and some unique blooms! Working with Elissa leading up to their big day was a great! She works at a local floral distributor where I purchase a number of my flowers and so we would chat regularly about updates and specifics for the flowers of their big day….which exact shade & varieties of roses, what tone of callas, whether the anemones would be open perfectly for the big day…always another detail to discuss. In the final days leading up to the wedding, all the flowers came together beautifully and our hard work paid off!! Some of her favourites include calla lilies, anemones, freesia and roses all of which we included in the bouquets, boutonnieres and church pieces!! God’s Blessings & much love to both of you! Another fabulous photo credit goes out to Elma of Photography by Elma, thanks so much!
Don’t you just love that close up of the boutonniere?! It looked stunning against the black suit & red vest!!
This year, grey really has been one of my fav shades; it’s just fabulous for decorating in the home, a staple in any wardrobe and of course a hot colour for weddings! Though it’s not going to be found as a colour of a fresh flower; it’s all the rage for accents & coordinating details!! Amanda & her ladies chose a lovely pewter grey for their bridesmaid dresses and for the flowers we coordinated with a soft, romantic palette of pale pinks, ivories, whites & of course greys! We achieved this look by incorporating blown open garden roses, dahlia, ranunculus, imported roses, anemone with black centres for a pop along with the colour of the hour – grey!! – with dusty miller foliage, brunia berries & to tie everything together a charcoal ribbon wrap & matching pins! Stunning!!! peruse these gorgeous shots from Elma of Photography by Elma
Earlier this year Amrita & Darrel shared their vows over a stunning weekend with their close friends & family. Simple elegance would perfectly sum up the pure white bouquet created for their Indian ceremony & allowed Amrita in all of her finery shine through; the piece included white peonies, imported & spray roses and calla lilies tucked in perfectly to a delicate gold holder…these pictures are fabulous!
For their western ceremony, the bridal couple chose the Toronto Botanical Garden to capture their garden style day. This venue was just fabulous…the ceremony area was surrounded by the beauty of the gardens & the sounds of running water from the fountains but after setting up all of the details, the clouds opened and much to Amrita’s dismay started raining…I do have to share how stunning the floral pieces looked outside…
…so we moved into their indoor ceremony site which was equally beautiful featuring unique modern elements & a textured white wall – very cool!
The rain definitely didn’t damper their spirits or affect the stunning couple & wedding party
After the ceremony, the party continued at the Woodbine Banquet & Conference Centre where the place was decked out in warm shades of deep purple, silvers and hot pinks. The wedding party tables really showed off the romantic look, especially with the ambiance of all the cylinder vases filled with floating candles & rose petals lining the head table (these were used earlier to line the aisle of the ceremony for a unique aisle decor option).
For the guest tables, manzanita trees were rented for the evening and we soften the look by adding silver mint julep vases filled with white hydrangea & scattered rose petals around the tables as a finishing touch & pop of colour.
The overall affect – wow!! Congrats to both of you, I had such a pleasure working with you along with your lovely wedding planner extraordinaire, Mary Bratko of Weddinggirl.ca!
Wow, it’s been too long! After a summer of lovely weddings & lazy days at the beach it is definitely time I started blogging once again and share some of what I have been up to….
Mike & Lindsey are a super fun-loving couple so I figured they would be the perfect start!! We hit it off right from our first consultation, the two of them were easy to please and all they hoped was to fill their special day with bright summer flowers & bold blooms! Coming from Toronto they really wanted to make this neat little destination one where they could truly escape from the busyness of the city & retreat with their family & friends in this it fabulous off the beaten trail gem in Niagara!
We filled both the Cave Springs Vineyard & Inn on the Twenty with flowers to add punches of colour to the otherwise neutral & classic vibe of the venue.
Their girls wore little black dresses so the colours in hot pinks, deep purples, lime greens & whites complimented them exquisitely and of course Lindsey’s beautiful wedding gown as well!
Feast your eyes on these lovely photos taken by Jordan’s own Stec Photography. While setting up, I could hardly help myself try one of the fun cupcakes the girls from Designer Delights had set up which matched the flowers & day, we added rose petals around their treats to finish the look. To my surprise I met up with the bride & groom the next day hanging out in Jordan and I got one of the extras 🙂 Yummy!
Spring is always a lovely time of year for a wedding! A time full of new life & fresh promise, perfect for a couple in love surrounded by fragrant blooms and soft yet bold colours. As can be seen in these photographs, Tara & Mike have such a wonderful bond and warm love for each other and it was such a pleasure working along side of them; capturing their colour palette and their special day with the flowers! Like I said earlier, after a long winter, spring brings out all sorts of charming blooms and I was thrilled when Tara showed me her colour swatches – canary yellows, olive & lime greens and celery greens which I paired with yellow ranunculus & freesia, pungent yellow mimosa, soft green hellebore, lime green cymbidium orchids, soft green hydrangea all adding such a lovely punch against her ivory dress and within their venue at the Pillar & Post in Niagara on the Lake. Take a peak at these wonderful pictures, many taken by Andrea of Andrea’s Impressions Photography!

Can’t you just feel it? Oh the sweet love of a flourishing romance and a couple on their wedding day! The glow in the bride’s flushed face & the sparkle of excitement seen in his eyes; radiant as they start their new life together.
Each detail of this fabulous late fall day was taken into such consideration & love; everything coming together to truly capture the look Adriana & her groom Jamie were after- classic elegance with a punch of colour; refined while still being playful. The bride’s mom, Antoinette; lovingly doted on Adriana & with their special attention to detail brought all of little pieces together to make this day out of this world.
When delivering the wedding party flowers early that morning, I was especially excited to see Adriana in her finery…
there was such a scurry of activity when I was whisked right into her parent’s home! Pete from Stec Photo was already capturing the stunning bride!
Her soft exquisite bouquet included ivory spray roses, creamy white cymbidium orchids, cream imported roses, white ranunculus finished with dusty miller & stems completely wrapped with soft satin ribbon.
Surrounding Adriana were all of her closest, fun lovin’ ladies, wearing a wonderful raspberry halter style dress, adding a punch of colour to the elegant day…holding posy style bouquets with raspberry cymbidium orchids, vintage pink imported roses & silvery dusty miller to finished their chic look perfectly.
…just look at how happy she is!!! check out the dusty miller within her bouquet as well, so soft & elegant!
Meeting up with her groom for a warm embrace, they were photographed together in and around the grounds of Niagara’s Fallsview Casino.
After the ceremony & Wedding party pictures, guests arrived at John Michael’s Hall in Thorold to find a room done to perfection by Simply Beautiful Decor.
Choosing pearl pink french pleated satin for the tablecloths & soft, fun ruffled pink chair caps on the silver chiavari chairs; the place was out of this world beautiful & filled with soft ambiance by candlelight.
The centrepieces were created in lovely crystal fluted pieces filled with creamy white hydrangea, raspberry cymbidium orchids, vintage pink & cream shades of imported roses and raspberry hanging amaranthus.
Elegant chandeliers adorned either end of the show-stoping head table to finish the look off!
And the bridal couple enjoyed their guests & danced the night away!
From the day Erin & I started chatting about her upcoming wedding plans & specifically the fabulous flowers…she had a unique vision for her & Jeff’s day. A champagne, soft gray, ivory and chocolate brown colour palette along with vintage & feather details; all delicately pulled together on a snowy saturday in January.
As the girls were getting dolled up in a cozy, warm suite at the Inn on the Twenty in Jordan, I added to their excitement with a handsome bridal bouquet created in a elegant silver tusy musy holder & hand-tied styled bouquets for the bridesmaids & flower girl using white ranunculus, ‘Vendella’ & ‘Sahara’ coloured imported roses and white hydrangea; oh what fun!
And then off to the dining room I went to place spiffy little groupings of vintage milk glass vases with simple blooms and creamy white feathers…the finishing touch enjoyed by guests coming to share in the joining of two hearts on white winter’s day.
Lime green & white are a fabulous combination; perfect for a classic, elegant wedding theme with a pop of colour! And not only will the lime green pop, the green is still very classic adding colour but not going to crazy! For Sarah & Andrew’s October nuptial’s, we used granny smith apples as their pop of colour, a perfect way to add interest & a touch of fall without wavering from their opulent vision. Taking place at Pen Lakes in Fenwick, the ceremony commenced as the sun was setting over the golf course with the reception immediately following by a stunning candlelit evening in the dining room; thanks to Sarah’s mom Shelley; every detail was looked after with the upmost care and love. These pictures taken by Sarah’s uncle; Todd of Todd McKinnon Photography, will show off their day of wedded bliss….enjoy!
So unfortunately I have been laying here sick on the couch all day, watching one my of design favs Sarah Richardson; reading magazines and I find myself re-assessing my own space – my living room. The Christmas tree desperately still needs to come down and then it will feel really empty again…definitely in need of some exciting changes! After watching & reading from the design experts – (if you subscribe to Style at Home Magazine check out ‘No Holds Barred’ in the January issue.. this is my ultimate inspiration-I just couldn’t find a picture to show for it)
I think I have a plan! Let’s do something big, something drastic! I’m gonna try black & white stripes! Tell me what you think!
This picture should give a pretty good visual…
and because flowers & decor are such a passion of mine, I have to show some stunning black & white wedding inspiration!

A fond summer memory was shared with me today! Devon & Peter came home to Niagara for a wonderful summer wedding at Ball’s Fall’s Chapel & the Centre for Conservation. The bride carried a lovely garden inspired hand-tied bouquet filled with queen anne’s lace, ivory dahlia, cream lisianthus, star of bethlehem, white freesia & white ranunculus finished with gardeny inspired foliage and her maid of honour; wearing a chic royal blue dress carried blue delphinum, blue agapanthus, seeded eucalyptus and matching garden picked foliage. A twist to the typical vintage wedding bouquet as well as the centrepieces – as simple as mason jars filled with matching summery blooms! Enjoy these fabulous photographs!
As the saying goes, “a picture speaks a thousand words”….well that pretty much sums up how these pictures capture this wedding day so perfectly! Jodi Taylor Photographics did an amazing job but with such a striking couple it seems easy! Every last detail was accomplished with such care, from the flowers, to all the special things Laura’s mother took care of & wedding planner Mary Bratko from Weddinggirl.ca worked her magic once again which made this day even more a fairy tale.
Enjoy this latest Bridecast! I had the pleasure of spending time once again with the charming Mary Bratko of weddinggirl.ca. This time we discussed ways to personalize your wedding flowers to truly make them fit your special day and also trends for 2010 & 2011. Oh what fun it is to talk about what I am so passionate about creating…wedding flowers!
